In honor of Black History Month, I’m beyond excited to share the Grace Color Palette—a special edition inspired by the stunning work of Hurvin Anderson and his iconic painting Grace Jones (2020). This isn’t just a color palette; it’s a celebration of culture, identity, and storytelling, brought to life through rich, bold hues.

Hurvin Anderson, Grace Jones (2020)

If you’ve never encountered Hurvin Anderson’s work, let me set the stage for you. Anderson, born in Birmingham, UK, to Jamaican parents, creates art that bridges two worlds—his Caribbean heritage and his British upbringing. His pieces are vivid and layered, weaving together themes of migration, memory, and identity. Grace Jones, his painting that inspired this palette, is a perfect example of his brilliance. The lush tropical greens, deep blues, and earthy tones in the piece radiate a sense of strength, resilience, and elegance.

The Grace palette

This palette channels all that vibrancy and depth into a curated collection of Sherwin-Williams colors that feel bold, grounded, and unapologetic. Think rich greens that bring a lush, botanical vibe, calming blues for a serene touch, and warm neutrals that ground the whole look. Each shade is like a brushstroke from Anderson’s painting, ready to transform your space into a work of art.

When I designed this palette, I imagined it living in spaces that tell their own stories. Picture a living room with a deep forest green accent wall, paired with neutral furnishings to let the color shine. Or maybe a serene bedroom featuring calming blues and soft whites that invite you to relax. And for those bold moments? That berry-pink hue is perfect for a pop of color in a dining room or an entryway that wows.

Black History Month is about honoring the legacy of Black creatives and innovators who’ve shaped our world, and this palette is my way of paying tribute to the beauty they bring to our lives. Hurvin Anderson’s art reminds us of the power of storytelling through color and texture. It’s bold, it’s layered, and it’s unapologetically authentic—just like this palette.

The Grace Color Palette is available now on our Etsy store as a downloadable guide, so you can bring this stunning tribute into your own home. Whether you’re dreaming up a bold feature wall or reimagining an entire space, this palette is the perfect starting point for you to design a space that celebrates artistry, culture, and creativity.

Let this palette remind you that design, like art, is about more than just aesthetics—it’s about telling a story. And this story? It’s one worth celebrating.

Designed to honor the richness of Black creativity, this palette brings sophistication, warmth, and meaningful storytelling into any space.

Y’all, I am so excited to share something truly special in honor of Black History Month—the Marchioness color palette! This collection is inspired by the breathtaking artwork of Toyin Ojih Odutola, an artist whose ability to tell stories through pastel and charcoal is absolutely unmatched. Her work has this way of pulling you into a world that feels both familiar and completely new, and that’s exactly what I wanted to reflect in this palette.

Toyin ojih Odutola, The Marchioness, 2016

Let’s dive into the inspiration behind it. One of Toyin’s standout pieces, The Marchioness (2016), portrays a regal member of the fictional UmuEze Amara family, part of a reimagined Nigerian aristocracy. This isn’t just any portrait—it’s a gateway to an alternative history where Africa remains untouched by colonialism and the trans-Atlantic slave trade. In Toyin’s world, Black excellence and love take center stage, celebrated without the weight of oppression. Every detail in The Marchioness, from the luxurious textures to the warm, earthy tones, speaks to this imagined history, and it’s nothing short of inspiring.

The Marchioness palette

From this incredible piece of art, I created the Marchioness color palette—a collection of hues that embodies the richness, pride, and imagination of Toyin’s work. The palette includes a mix of deep, dramatic tones that command attention and softer, grounding hues that add balance. Together, these colors create a sense of harmony and sophistication, perfect for bringing both elegance and warmth into any space.

One of my favorite things about this palette is how versatile it is. These colors aren’t just meant to be admired—they’re meant to be lived in. Imagine a dining room painted in one of the deep, moody tones, creating the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations. Or a cozy bedroom layered with soft, earthy shades that make you feel instantly at ease. Whether you’re looking to make a bold statement or create a serene retreat, this palette has something for every space.

But this palette isn’t just about design—it’s about celebrating Black artistry and storytelling. It’s a reminder of the power we have to reimagine and rewrite narratives. Toyin’s work shows us what’s possible when we dream beyond limits, and that’s exactly the energy I hope this palette brings into your home.

If you’re as inspired by this as I am, head over to our Etsy shop to check out the Marchioness palette for yourself. Bring a piece of this story into your life, and let’s honor Black History Month by celebrating creativity, resilience, and the beauty of imagining a better world. This palette is more than just colors—it’s a movement, a tribute, and an invitation to create something extraordinary. Let’s dream big, y’all.

Its balance of soft greys and bold, vibrant hues creates a visual harmony that feels both grounding and celebratory—just like life’s most meaningful moments. Some art stops you in your tracks, and Amy Sherald’s She was learning to love moments, to love moments for themselves is one of those pieces. Inspired by this incredible work, we’ve curated the "Moments" color palette: a special edition collection honoring Sherald’s artistry and celebrating Black History Month. This palette brings together serene neutrals and energetic pops of color, designed to transform your space into one that tells a story, sparks emotion, and honors the rich legacy of Black artistry.

I still remember the first time I saw Amy Sherald’s She was learning to love moments, to love moments for themselves at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was one of those experiences where you feel like the air around you shifts. Standing in front of that painting, I was completely captivated—not just by the striking balance of color and grey, but by the way it made me feel. The subject seemed so calm, so self-assured, surrounded by vibrant hues that seemed to tell their own story. It was art that didn’t just ask to be looked at; it asked to be felt.

Sherald’s work has this incredible way of blending quiet power with bold energy. Her subjects, painted in soft greys in lieu of their Black skin, are grounded and monumental, while the bursts of color around them feel alive and celebratory. It’s a perfect harmony of contrast—subtle yet commanding. I couldn’t stop thinking about how those colors and that balance could translate into spaces we live in every day. That’s where the idea for our "Moments" palette was born.

Amy Sherald, She was learning to love moments, to love moments for themselves (2017)

The palette itself is like a love letter to Sherald’s artistry. There’s this warm orange that feels like it could wrap you in a hug. A lilac purple that whispers calm and balance. Sunshine yellow that’s pure happiness bottled up. A lush green that brings a grounding, nature-inspired touch. And a rich ocean blue that’s deep, moody, and sophisticated. These colors don’t just work well together—they tell a story, just like Sherald’s painting.

The Moments palette

I imagined where these colors might live in a home. That orange would look incredible in a dining room, setting the tone for warm, inviting gatherings. The lilac could turn a bedroom into the calmest, coziest retreat. Sunshine yellow? Perfect for a kids’ room or a cheerful breakfast nook. And that blue? It’s the drama your home office or bathroom has been craving. These colors aren’t just pretty—they’re transformative.

If you’ve seen Sherald’s work in person, you know what I mean when I say her use of color feels electric. The way her grayscale subjects draw you in, forcing you to slow down and really see them, while the vibrant colors energize everything around them—it’s magic. I wanted this palette to carry that same energy: a balance of stillness and vibrancy, reflection and celebration.

The "Moments" palette is more than just a set of colors; it’s an invitation to live in the present, to love the moments that make up our lives. It’s also a celebration of Black artistry and the powerful stories it tells. Honoring Sherald’s work felt like the perfect way to recognize Black History Month and bring a touch of her brilliance into the spaces we call home.

Now, this palette is out in the world, ready to find its way into your home. You can grab it now on our Etsy shop and use it to create something special in your space. Whether it’s a bold accent wall, a cozy corner, or a playful pop of color, these shades are here to help you tell your own story.

Looking back, I’m so glad I got to experience Sherald’s work in person—it left a mark on me, and now I hope this palette can leave a mark on you. Celebrate Black History Month with us by bringing this meaningful, vibrant palette into your life.

Here’s to moments worth loving, in art and in life. 💜

Reconnect with Nature: Earthy Tones & Nature-Inspired Colors for 2025

Designing a home that’s earth-conscious can actually be ridiculously gorgeous, and I’m about to show you how!

Let's be real—there’s something magical about walking into a space that feels connected to the earth. It’s like a breath of fresh air, grounding you the moment you step inside. That’s what the earthy tones and nature-inspired colors trending for 2025 are all about—creating rooms that bring the outside in, so your home feels serene, cozy, and deeply personal.

Warm and Inviting Hues

One thing I love about this trend is the warmth it brings. Earthy tones like terracotta, olive green, and deep ochre are having a major moment—and for good reason. These shades remind us of nature in the most comforting way. Terracotta, with its rich, sunbaked hue, instantly adds warmth to any space, whether you use it on an accent wall or in a few key decor pieces. Olive green? It’s the definition of calm, perfect for creating a peaceful bedroom or a cozy nook in your living room. And deep ochre—think of it as a golden hour glow that you can bring inside, creating that warm, inviting vibe we all crave.

These colors feel lived-in, natural, and timeless, making them perfect for any room. Plus, they play well with just about everything—especially muted neutrals.

The Power of Muted Neutrals

Now, when I say "neutrals," I’m not talking about the stark whites of the past. 2025 is all about warm neutrals, like soft taupes, creamy sands, and stone grays that feel natural and easy on the eyes. These shades make the perfect backdrop for your earthy tones, keeping the vibe calm and sophisticated while letting the rich colors really shine.

Picture this: a deep terracotta feature wall paired with sandy-beige furnishings. The result? A Mediterranean-inspired oasis that’s anything but boring. Or try using a warm gray as your base, then layer in olive green and deep ochre through your decor. You’ll create a space that feels both grounded and dynamic without having to overhaul your entire room.

Adding Pops of Botanical Color

Let’s talk about adding some energy to the mix! While earthy tones create a grounded base, pops of botanical-inspired colors bring life and vibrancy into your space. I’m talking lush greens, deep blues, and even floral-inspired hues like a soft blush or vibrant magenta. These touches are all about balance—they remind us that nature isn’t just brown and green, but full of rich, lively colors.

Imagine an olive green room with soft taupe furniture and a bright emerald green armchair as a statement piece. Or, layer in botanical throw pillows, a bold piece of art, or a rug that ties in those pops of color. Suddenly, your space feels alive and connected to the world outside your window.

Creating a Relaxed, Serene Space

At the end of the day, these nature-inspired colors are all about creating a space that feels like a retreat. They bring a sense of calm and balance to your home, making it a place where you can recharge and unwind. Whether you’re going for a cozy, lived-in look or something sleek and modern, these earthy tones and botanical accents adapt to whatever vibe you’re going for.

So, don’t be afraid to experiment with this palette! Mix in textures like stone, wood, or linen to add warmth, or play with different shades to find what feels right for your space. Trust me, once you start incorporating these earthy, nature-inspired hues into your home, you’ll feel more grounded, more connected—and honestly, isn’t that what we all want?

2025 Interior Design Trends: Textured Surfaces & Curved Furniture for a Softer, More Dynamic Home

Two key trends are making this possible: textured surfaces and curved furniture with organic shapes. These elements bring a sense of tactile depth and softness to our interiors, allowing us to create spaces that feel dynamic, inviting, and oh-so-cozy. Let’s dive into how you can embrace these trends to transform your home into a haven of comfort and style.

If there’s one thing that’s clear for 2025, it’s that our homes are becoming more than just functional spaces—they’re turning into personal sanctuaries that are all about comfort, warmth, and connection.

The Rise of Textured Surfaces: Adding Depth and Interest

There’s no doubt about it—texture is having a major moment in design. In 2025, it’s all about bringing a variety of tactile materials into your home, from 3D wall treatments to lush fabrics that practically beg you to touch them. Adding texture to your space creates visual interest and layers, giving a room depth and personality. Here’s how you can incorporate textured surfaces into your home for a rich, sophisticated look.

1. 3D Wall Treatments: Sculpting Your Space

Gone are the days of flat, boring walls. In 2025, we’re seeing a surge in 3D wall treatments that turn your walls into works of art. Think ribbed wood paneling, geometric wall tiles, or sculpted plaster that add a tactile element to your space. These treatments not only bring depth and dimension to a room, but they also create an interactive experience—one that draws your eyes and hands in, making your space feel more immersive.

If you’re looking to make a statement, try a 3D feature wall in a living room or entryway. A sculptural plaster wall, for instance, can add an artisanal, handcrafted feel to your space, while ribbed wood paneling brings warmth and a modern edge. The beauty of these surfaces is that they act as artwork on their own, elevating your room’s aesthetic with minimal effort.

2. Plush Fabrics: Softness Meets Luxury

While walls are getting a textural upgrade, so are fabrics. Plush materials like bouclé, velvet, and sherpa are making their way into homes in a big way, offering both comfort and a touch of luxury. These fabrics are perfect for creating a cozy, inviting space where you just want to sink in and relax.

Bouclé, with its nubby texture, is especially popular for sofas, chairs, and throw pillows. It adds warmth and softness while also giving your furniture a trendy, modern look. Velvet, on the other hand, brings a rich, luxurious feel that’s perfect for adding elegance to your space—whether it’s through an opulent velvet sofa or plush velvet curtains.

If you’re not ready to commit to large pieces, consider incorporating these fabrics through smaller accents like throw blankets, cushions, or upholstered stools. The softness of these materials instantly transforms a room, making it feel more welcoming and comfortable.

3. Natural Elements: Stone, Wood, and Leather

In 2025, natural materials like stone, wood, and leather will be key players in adding texture to interiors. These materials not only bring an organic, grounded feel to your space, but they also add durability and longevity. Stone surfaces—whether they’re used in countertops, fireplaces, or accent tables—bring a raw, earthy vibe, while wood, especially in ribbed or slatted finishes, adds warmth and a sense of craftsmanship.

Leather, with its smooth yet tactile surface, offers a luxurious touch that ages beautifully over time. From leather sofas to sleek leather cabinet pulls, this material adds both texture and sophistication to a room. When combined with other natural elements like wood and stone, you create a balanced, harmonious environment that feels connected to the earth.

Curved Furniture & Organic Shapes: Bringing Softness to Your Space

The second major trend for 2025 is all about soft, organic shapes. Over the last few years, we’ve seen a shift away from harsh, angular furniture in favor of curved forms inspired by nature. These soft, rounded shapes add a sense of fluidity and movement to interiors, making spaces feel more inviting and relaxing. Let’s explore how curved furniture and organic shapes can transform your home.

1. Softer Lines for a Softer Space

Curved furniture offers a sense of ease and comfort that you just don’t get with straight lines and sharp angles. Whether it’s a rounded sofa, an oval coffee table, or a chair with flowing contours, these pieces bring a softness to your space that feels more natural and less rigid. It’s no wonder curved furniture is becoming a staple in modern design.

One of the great things about curved furniture is how it can soften the overall look of a room. A rounded sofa, for example, not only makes your living space more comfortable to lounge in, but it also creates a more relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Pairing a curved sofa with other organic-shaped furniture, like a kidney-shaped coffee table or a curvy accent chair, creates a cohesive flow throughout the room, making it feel more balanced and harmonious.

2. Organic Architecture: Inspired by Nature

In addition to furniture, we’re seeing organic shapes make their way into architecture, too. Arched doorways, rounded windows, and curved staircases are becoming popular design features, bringing a sense of natural flow to interiors. These architectural elements not only add softness to a space, but they also evoke the fluidity of nature—think rolling hills, winding rivers, or the gentle curve of a seashell.

If you’re building or renovating, incorporating curved architectural details can completely transform the feel of your home. Even something as simple as a rounded alcove or an arched hallway can add elegance and softness, creating a more cohesive, calming environment. And the best part? These details feel timeless, ensuring your space will stay stylish for years to come.

3. Layering Organic Shapes with Texture

For maximum impact, combine textured surfaces with organic shapes. Layering textures like velvet or bouclé with curved furniture pieces creates a dynamic, tactile experience that’s both visually and physically appealing. Picture this: a rounded velvet sofa paired with a soft bouclé armchair, set against a backdrop of ribbed wood paneling. The result is a room that feels rich and layered, full of texture and softness that invites you to sit down, relax, and stay a while.

These organic shapes also pair beautifully with natural elements like stone or wood. A curvy wooden coffee table or a rounded stone vase adds both texture and shape, making your space feel grounded and balanced. The key here is to play with contrast—mix smooth surfaces with more tactile materials, and straight lines with softer, flowing forms, to create a room that feels layered and dynamic.

Wrapping It Up: Designing with Texture and Curves

As we move into 2025, interior design is taking a turn towards the tactile and the organic. Textured surfaces and curved furniture are redefining how we think about our homes, making them more dynamic, comfortable, and connected to nature. By layering textures like plush fabrics and natural materials with soft, organic shapes, you can create a space that feels both visually interesting and inviting.

So, whether you’re looking to revamp your living room, refresh your bedroom, or add a touch of sophistication to your entryway, these trends offer endless possibilities for transforming your space. And the best part? They’re all about making your home feel like the ultimate sanctuary—a place where you can relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of good design.
