Jazmyn Miller-Gibbs is the founder and principal designer of Abode Above Interiors, a studio known for its bold, story-driven approach to residential design. Her entry into design was anything but traditional, and that is precisely what defines her perspective. Even so, the path was already laid. Years as a litigation paralegal had done the groundwork, instilling a command of organization, documentation, and rigor that predated her first client and has shaped every project since. Jazmyn began her practice in May 2020, during a time when the meaning of home was being redefined in real time. Without the constraints of a conventional path, she developed an instinct-led process rooted in observation, emotional intelligence, and a deep understanding of how spaces shape daily life. She later strengthened that foundation through formal coursework and by studying alongside established local designers, refining her technical knowledge while preserving the intuitive approach that sets her work apart.
At Abode Above Interiors, Jazmyn works closely with a carefully selected network of contractors, tradespeople, and artisans across Delaware, Philadelphia, and New Jersey, ensuring that every phase of a project is executed with precision and care. From initial concept through final installation, she remains hands-on, guiding each decision with clarity and confidence. The result is a seamless experience for her clients and a finished space that feels cohesive, intentional, and distinctly their own.

How do I know which service is right for me?
It comes down to how hands-on you want to be. Full Service Design is for clients who want to hand it all over and be guided from concept through installation. Design Plan and Design Edit are for those who want a professional direction they carry out themselves. And Design Access is for the homeowner managing their own project who just wants expert input along the way.

Can you help me choose paint colors or just refresh one room?
Yes. This is where our À La Carte Design services comes in. These services are ideal for smaller projects covering paint selections, layout adjustments, or a single-room refresh. I step in, refine what’s not working, and give you clear direction.
It’s focused support without the commitment of a full-service project.
How long does a design project usually take?
Timelines vary, but here’s a general range:
Full Service Design: 4-9+ months, depending on construction, coordination, and lead times
Design Plan: 6-10 weeks, depending on scope and revisions
Design Edit: 3-5 weeks, depending on scope and revisions
Design Access: Flexible, client-directed subscriber-level help

Abode Above Interiors is proudly based in Delaware and serves clients both locally and nationwide.
Full Service Design is currently available to clients in Delaware and select areas of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia. For those outside of this service area, I offer À La Carte Design services throughout the United States, providing the same level of thoughtful, customized design, regardless of location.

Do we have to use your preferred contractors?
No. While I frequently collaborate with a trusted Preferred Contractor, I am equally open to working alongside any licensed and insured professional you already know and trust.
My priority is assembling a qualified, cohesive team that can execute the design with precision and care. Regardless of who is involved, we will ensure the right expertise is in place to successfully bring your vision to life.
What is your signature design style?
I am naturally drawn to Maximalist, Modern Bohemian, Art Deco, and Classic French influences that embrace story, whimsy and unexpected design direction; however, my true focus is creating spaces that reflect the individuality of each client.
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all design. Every space is thoughtfully curated to align with your lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, and the way you experience your home. The result is a design that feels both elevated and deeply personal.
Do you use artificial intelligence in your design work?
Not where it counts, no. The creative side, your concepts, floor plans, color palettes, the pieces chosen, all of that comes straight from me and the way you live in your home. That is the heart of what you are paying for, and it is the part I love most, so it stays with me.
Where I do lean on technology, AI included, is behind the scenes: keeping your project organized, our communication clear, and your timeline on track. It just means less busy work for me and a smoother, more responsive experience for you.
